The second annual ‘Soar Above the Challenge’ obstacle course race was staged on Saturday, April 29 at MIT Endicott House and Wilson Mountain. Athletes encountered more than 25 obstacles or tasks, such as hauling a heavy sack up a hill. Post-race festivities included a BBQ and medals for all participants.
Broc Jackson of Dedham, the director of Eagle Obstacles LLC and the owner of B5 Fitness in Needham, organized the race. 20 percent of the proceeds were donated to the MSPCA Angell Animal Medical Center.

Day finished first overall, and described why he enjoyed the event. “It’s so much different than a regular road race – there’s something to do, you don’t get bored. It’s a whole different animal.”
